Me And Henry Moore

We usually try to get to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park once or twice a year ~ this time we were late for the Henry Moore: Back to a Land exhibition (which had finished the previous day) ~ but the latest attraction was Wave, a sweeping arch of thousands of ceramic poppies suspended on towering stalks. It was an impressive sight in a beautiful setting, and very moving.

Plenty of stuff worth seeing as usual: Anthony Gormley’s “One and Other”,  “Ten Seated Figures” by Polish artist Magdalena Abakanowicz, “Network” by Thomas J Price, and Bob and Roberta Smith’s “Art Makes Children Powerful”, all pieces we’d not seen on previous trips.

Despite missing the latest Henry Moore exhibition, there are of course the permanent Moore sculptures dotted over the landscape.
