Way back in 2016 I carved some “Woodland Fairy”-themed panels for Eibe Play UK, which were installed in Alice Holt Woods, Surrey; they were great fun to do, so I was delighted when Eibe contacted me again about some similar panels for a play park in Dawlish, Devon. I immediately set to work on the sketches for approval, and sorted through my stock of seasoned oak for some suitable pieces; I had some enormous slabs, 3 or 4 inches thick which would be perfect ~ and I could emphasise the woodland theme by giving the pieces a “wany”, natural look.
