Some photos of a recent project, a large (approximately 3′ x 2′ x 4″) oak slab, carved with moonlit badgers.
Sanding the slab; I’ve had this oak for about three years, waiting for it to dry but also waiting for the right carving.
Playing around with designs…

Working back, up towards the moon and tree branches, down towards the tree roots and text.
All oiled and finished; “We are an enduring lot, and we may move out for a time, but we wait, and are patient, and back we come. And so it will ever be.”
